Simple & Sweet: A Baseball-Themed 2nd Birthday Party

For my son's second birthday, we went with an American baseball theme.

This was partly because he loves to play ball, but also because his birthday is just after the 4th of July, which meant a lot of patriotic-themed party items were on clearance (win-win!). Bonus: I can reuse many of the decorations for next year’s Independence Day celebration.

Decorations

I don’t have a ton of products to link because most of what I used was either thrifted, repurposed, or scored on clearance — but I still wanted to share a few photos from the day. Sometimes the simplest celebrations are the sweetest!

If you're planning a similar party, I created a free Canva template for the birthday invitation. You can access it by clicking the image below.

Amazon Finds That Fit the Theme (Even Though I Didn’t Buy These):

If you're planning your own baseball-themed birthday party, here are a few fun Amazon finds I came across while planning, even if I didn’t end up using them:

Ballpark-Inspired Birthday Snacks

Next Time, to keep with the baseball theme, I would keep the food simple and fun, just like something you'd grab at a ball game!

Think hot dogs, popcorn, soft pretzels, and Cracker Jacks, all easy crowd-pleasers and perfect for little hands. Add lemonade and iced tea for drinks, and a baseball-themed cake to finish things off.

You could even set up a little "concession stand" with snacks in red-and-white striped containers for that classic ballpark feel. I linked some concession stand decor above, but for our party we didn’t end up doing food, just dessert.

What would you have added to this birthday party theme? Any childhood traditions of going to a game? Let me know in the comments!
